Well the Elizabeth neighborhood has some hidden gems like most other neighborhoods in Charlotte. Many pass through this area often but never noticed, Customshop, the restaurant we tried this month. The place is not the biggest, but the decor is notable and different. The entire presentation itself let us know that the food had to be BOMB! There were several guests that came in and already had reservations, so thats a clear indication that people wanted to make sure they had a table. Our table was already prepared and the staff were very pleasant. The waiter mentioned that the menu is tweaked by the chef periodically based on his mood. If he does not want those noodles in that dish, well it will be a different noodle that week then, lol.
Overall, I would give the restaurant 5 stars, but here are what the attendees had to say:
"Customshop was amazing. I had the scallops and they were cooked perfectly. The restaurant had a rustic, farm-to-table feel without being pretentious. The ambiance was relaxing and welcoming. I recently learned, via twitter, that you get 20% off your bill when you dine at the bar. WIN!"
"Great date night spot."
"Food was good and prepared for a visual stimulation. It is convenient to the trolley and free parking in the area. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. Strong drinks and beers."
"This restaurant is on the expensive side but the food was definitely worth the price. I had the pleasure of ordering the Garnanelli Pasta; a pasta dish with Carolina shrimp, artichokes, some bacon and delicious sauce. The popular dessert, bread pudding, was great"
"The treat of my night was trying out he 'Evil Twin Yang' beer, A Taiji double IPA brewed in Brooklyn, NY."
"The bread pudding was huge, but soooo good! Definitely a dish to share with 2 to 3 people."
"My dish was not cooked the best, but the honeycomb was really good."
"The black linguini was delicious and the jalapenos added the right spice to it. Since there will definitely be a next time, I plan to get the scallops."
