Well we kicked off the year with dinner at Fiamma during The Queen's Feast, also referred to as Charlotte's Restaurant Week. This special week occurs twice a year, in January and July, offering a 3 course meal for $30 or $35. You cant beat that deal especially at these higher priced restaurants. Fiamma was chosen due to the extensive options for each course. On a 5.0 scale I would give this restaurant a rating of 3.5 stars.
Here are some reviews of the attendees:
"This restaurant was great from beginning to end. The pesto & bread was good, everyone's food looked delicious and from the quiet table you would agree that it was. I ordered the Scallops as my appetizer and they were so good, the only disappointment was I wanted more of the purée cauliflower. Then to my surprise they brought out a palate cleanser (lemon sorbet) before the entree which I enjoyed since no restaurants really do that. For my entree I had the lamb chops and it was every bit of delicious along with the cheesecake I had for dessert! I would highly recommend this restaurant."
"Nice lowkey spot. The sautéed calamari was banging and so was the linguini. Like most Italian restaurants the portions are large. Would definitely attend again. As for the fellowship part, great networking and advice sharing on navigating Charlotte. Kudos to the our host Dee/IntenseDiva23"
"If I had to rank Fiamma's on a scale of 1 to 5, I'd give it a 3. Better than bad, not all that good. Queen City Feast is a great time to try a new restaurant because you get a range of courses for a good price. For the appetizer, I had the Pan Seared Sea Scallops with wild mushrooms and a cauliflower puree, Yum! The scallops were buttery and fresh. I had to leave early, so I had to take my entree and dessert to go. I ate them the same night so I judged a fresh meal. I had the Grilled Scotaditto which was lamb chops, polenta and asparagus. It was good. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly. My dessert was the Torta di Formaggi which was ricotta cheesecake - it was dry. It was supposed to come with vanilla gelato, but maybe they don't give you that to go. I'd give it another try."
"I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and the attentiveness of the waiter. The food was delicious and fresh. They had quite an extensive menu so I will be going back!"
Next month we will be celebrating 1 Year of Foodies & Fellowship, so don't miss out on the fun!
